Hey there, I'm so glad you're here!
So you're engaged, you're buzzing, and you're probably knee-deep in Pinterest boards wondering how on earth you're going to pull this whole wedding thing off. I get it, I really do, and that's exactly why I started this blog.
My name is Carly Honey, and I'm a wedding celebrant right here in Aotearoa (Waitakere, Auckland, to be exact). I've been working in weddings on and off since 2007, which means I've seen it all - the tearful vows, the unexpected rain showers, the flower girls who steal the show, and about a thousand different, beautiful ways couples have shared their love stories. I've picked up a lot of knowledge along the way, and honestly, I just love sharing it.
A little bit about me
When I'm not helping couples craft their dream ceremonies, you'll find me at home with my little family. I'm mum to a beautiful, sassy queen who has freshly graduated from the baby potato days and is now a walking, talking boss of our whare. She runs the show, and I'm just here for the ride.
I'm also partner to a wonderful guy who is yet to propose because, you know, #goodthingstaketime – but we'll give him grace, since he's already stuck with me anyway!
Outside of being a celebrant, I’m also a primary school teacher, and I've always loved being part of families' lives. But now? Now I get to be there for one of the biggest, best, most joy-filled days of your lives, which is just such an epic experience to share.

I write short, sweet posts that get straight to the point. No fluff, no jargon, just real talk about navigating the wedding industry in New Zealand. I'm here to inform, educate, and help you feel calm and in control as you hurtle towards your future plan the biggest day of your life. Because weddings can be confusing, the legal stuff can feel overwhelming, and sometimes you just need someone to break it all down in a way that actually makes sense.

I'm not here to be a stranger who shows up on the day, I'm here to be part of your journey.
